Swimming Time Trial Standards

This is a Varsity Sport, it is not Swim Lessons, therefore athletes should be able to perform the strokes, dive off a block and do flip turns.

Below are the time standards for this season.  The time standards should be used as an idea of what the coaches will be looking for.  Athletes who are unsure of their times should go to one of the public pools and swim events for a time prior to the team registration.  We take into consideration that some swimmers may be strong in some stokes, but not in others.  Again, this is a Varsity Sport, and swimmers will be expected to meet the time standards to be considered for the team.

Swimmers who perform better at distance events rather than sprint events need to share this information with the coaching staff and provide the coaches with times for a 200 or 500 free or 200 IM.

Boys Event Girls

All athletes are responsible for removing any jewelry before entering the pool. This includes hair bands or any other bands worn on the wrist. Athletes will be disqualified for wearing jewelry during an event.

Meet Entries

Your athlete can be entered in a maximum of 4 events per swim meet, no more than two (2) of which may be individual events Diving counts as 1 event.

Athletes typically find out which events they are entered in the day of the meet.

Physical

A physical examination form is also required and must be submitted to the coaches in advance of the first practice. If your athlete does not have a physical on file, your athlete will not be able to participate in any practice or meet.

Rank One is being used to submit physicals this year.

Parent Volunteers

Parent volunteers are needed to set up the meet before the athletes arrive and to tear down the meet after the athletes have left.

We will also need parent volunteers to run the meet console, HYTEK computer, and verification.
