First Volunteer Training! 10/12

Hello All!

Our first training is approaching. It is THIS Saturday 10/12 at Mountain Park Aquatic center. Please see the info below, from the county:

In-person and online training for the upcoming swim season will be offered this Saturday, October 12, at Mountain Park Aquatic Center.

The MORNING in-person training session will be from 9:00am-12:00pm and will be divided into groups that will cover the Meet Setup, Meet Breakdown, Meet Director responsibilities, and another group for Console Training.

The AFTERNOON training will be from 1:00 pm - 4:00pm, both in-person in the classroom, and online via Zoom Meeting. This training will cover the computer software (Meet Manager 8.0), and items to do before, during, and after the swim meet. The in-person training is for anyone who would like to see the software and use it on a computer during the Zoom Meeting. Please bring the team computer loaded with the software. There will be 2-3 laptops set up for use also.

It is strongly suggested that anyone that attends the Zoom Meeting have the team computer with HyTek Meet Manager 8.0 software loaded.

The Zoom Meeting link will be sent later this week. Please do not post this link in a public online forum, but rather share it with individuals from your team as needed via email. Encourage others to attend! Another session will be offered on 10/19/24 at West Gwinnett Aquatic Center and will cover the same material in both the morning and afternoon sessions that was covered on 10/12/24.

This training is very similar to the training in the past several years. No experience is necessary, but familiarity with HyTek software via past summer leagues or another swim organization is helpful.
This information is also posted to the GCSDBC website: https://gwinnettswimdive.godaddysites.com/training-information/, but the Zoom link is NOT.

I have confirmed they will be recording this Saturday's computer session. Therefore those who have reached out letting me know you cannot make it in person can follow up with this. I would also encourage folks who are signed up for console and/or computer training to plan to watch alongside the host team at the first meet as they execute these operations. It is very helpful to see it in real time. Even just for a portion of the meet.
Thank you!
April Okeson - Meet Director
